Overwiew of ASTM A815 S32750 / SAF 2507 Cap

The ASTM A815 S32750 cap is a butt-weld fitting manufactured from super duplex stainless steel, designated as UNS S32750 or SAF 2507 (1.4410). Designed to seal pipe ends in high-pressure and highly corrosive environments, it offers exceptional mechanical strength and outstanding corrosion resistance.

With a PRE (pitting resistance equivalent) value exceeding 40, it provides superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, particularly in chloride-rich environments such as seawater and chemical processing applications. Manufactured in accordance with ASME B16.9 dimensional standards, the cap undergoes solution annealing treatment at 1025–1125°C followed by rapid cooling to maintain its optimal dual-phase microstructure (50% ferrite / 50% austenite).

This fitting is widely used in offshore platforms, seawater desalination plants, chemical processing, and oil & gas industries where reliability under extreme conditions is critical.
